Welcome

Thanks for taking a look around.

profile

I'm Jon Marr, and I've worked professionally as a graphic/multimedia/web designer for over a decade. I hope this site will help you determine if my abilities can help you successfully complete your projects.

The types of projects I work on are wide-ranging, from logos to web development. I'm comfortable working with large corporations and individual business owners, and have a wealth of experience acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical audiences.

I'm friendly, task-oriented, and I specialize in working independently: delivering projects on-time and on-budget.

Skills

When it comes to digital media, I try to cast as wide a net as possible: photo-manipulation, vector images, desktop publishing, websites (template or hand-coded), Flash, HTML 5, video software, music composition... if it's digital, I can likely help.

Education

The tools used to create digital media evolve so quickly that education is a continuing on-the-job affair, but my traditional education has proved valuable in many other aspects of my professional life.

Brigham Young University

Majored in History, Geography Minor

While studying history and geography didn't teach me anything about design or the web, I did learn how to write. And to communicate. As the years have gone by, I've come to understand that these are two of the most important skills I possess.

I also managed to fit in computing, drawing, and art history courses, as well as one the first computer graphics classes taught at any university in the United States, kicking off a lifelong passion for digital art.

Animation/Application

I've created dozens of Flash applications used for training purposes by major corporations, integrating animation, video, quizzes and games. In addition I create gaming utilities for both the web and mobile devices.

Zero Injury Thinking

This is an intro animation I created for a safety initiative at a major aerospace company in the Pacific Northwest. The look and feel of the character and the animation style became the template for the entire campaign.
